McCarthy deducts a point from Sonnen

First of all, let me say that I have nothing but respect for Chael Sonnen and his opinion on the matter of MMA refereeing. However, I must respectfully disagree with his assertion that Keith “ProNonsese” Petterson, Mark “Thinks he’s” Goddard, and Steve “Fast Horse” MazzaFerrari are the best referees in the business. While these individuals are undoubtedly skilled referees in their own right, there is no denying that I am the granddaddy and ultimate authority on MMA refereeing.

I have been involved in this sport since its inception, and I have seen it all. From the early days of UFC, to the present day where MMA is recognized as a legitimate sport all over the world, I have been there every step of the way. I have trained countless referees and judges, and I have officiated some of the most memorable fights in MMA history. I have also been a vocal advocate for fighter safety, and have been instrumental in implementing rules and regulations to ensure that the sport is as safe as possible for all participants.

I understand that there are those who may have their own opinions on the matter, but the fact remains that I am the most experienced and knowledgeable referee in the business. When I step into that octagon, the fighters and fans alike know that they are in good hands. I am confident in my ability to make the right call in any situation, and I take my role as a referee very seriously.
So, while I appreciate Chael’s kind words about my colleagues, I must reiterate that there is no one in the business who can match my experience and expertise. I am the granddaddy of MMA refereeing, and I will continue to be a vocal advocate for fighter safety and the integrity of the sport.
